"Patrick and Meredith were in Meredith's room, while I had stayed in the kitchen," her published confession reads. "I can't remember how long they were together in the room, but I can only say that at a certain point, I had heard Meredith screaming, and I was scared, so I covered my ears. After that, I don't remember anything; my head is very confused... I can't remember if Raffaele was there that night. I remember waking up in his bed at his house and that I went back to my house where I found the door open."

Knox's confession implicated both Lumumba and Sollecito and resulted in both men's arrest. Since that time, Knox has again flip-flopped, withdrawing her confession and reverting back to her earlier claim that she was not at the scene of the crime. Regardless, police announced yesterday that they have proof that Knox is lying and that she was present during the murder.
Investigators say they have recovered surveillance camera footage from cameras overlooking the street by the apartment that show Knox entering the house at 8:45 p.m. In discussing the case with Bexhillobserver.net, an unidentified police source said, "It will be interesting to see what [Knox] has to say when we show her the footage."
Sollecito also claims to have been with Knox on the night of the murder, but says he cannot remember if she spent the night. Police are currently examining two knifes owned by Sollecito to see if they were used in the commission of the murder. Investigators are also conducting tests on a bloody footprint found at the crime scene to see if it matches one of Sollecito's shoes. According to the doctor who performed the autopsy on Meredith, "hairs, some skin cells and some other fibres" were discovered on her body.
