The Le Chic bar has remained closed since Lumumba's arrest.

None of the suspects in this case have been charged or formally arrested. As of this writing, they are being held in a Perugian prison on suspicion of conspiracy to commit manslaughter and conspiracy to commit sexual violence.

According to Iht.com, in Italy, a judge must decide, within 48 hours, whether to formally charge suspects based on the prosecutor's evidence. As an American without diplomatic status, Knox is subject to Italy's local laws. The three suspects are expected to make their first court appearance sometime today.

Yesterday, a spokesperson for Leeds University, where Meredith was a student, said the entire faculty is in shock.

"We will remember Meredith as a beautiful, clever and happy young woman, who was serious about her studies and popular with her peers," the unidentified spokesperson told News.bbc.co.uk.

*UPDATE*

The BBC is reporting that a knife "compatible" with the wound to Meredith's throat was found this morning during a search of Sollecito's house in Perugia. Forensic experts are testing it for fingerprints and DNA evidence.
