(Crime Library) — "On August 21, 2006, my whole world ended.  For those of you who don't know, my beautiful wife Candice died."

The above quote is from Lance Cpl. Robert Quiroz's MySpace profile.  Within it he describes the death of his wife, Candice, 20, who suffered a devastating brain aneurysm after giving birth to their son, Roman.  Robert, also 20, was stationed in Kuwait at the time, so the decision was made to keep Candice alive on life support so Robert could say his final goodbyes.

"It took two very long days for me to get back in Fresno," Robert wrote on his MySpace profile.  "It hurt me so much to walk in and see her laying on the hospital bed so still.  I would have given anything for her to wake up.  I laid next to her in the same bed, holding her hand and talking to her all night.  I just wanted her to come back.  The hardest thing I ever had to do in my whole life was saying good-bye to my wife and closing the casket."

Robert was obviously devastated by his wife's death.  Looking at Candice's MySpace profile, you are left with the impression of a very loving and devoted wife.  "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return," reads the first sentence at the very top of her profile.  Several photos of her husband, along with their daughter, Kylie, can be found throughout her site.  The last message she received prior to her death was from Robert.  On Aug. 19th at 3:59 a.m., he wrote:  "Hey I just got to Kuwait.  Tomorrow I'll be in Iraq, so I'll try to call u then. Love u."  Several hours later, at 1:33 p.m., Candice left her final reply on Robert's MySpace profile.  "I'll love you forever," she wrote.  "We miss you lots and can't wait to hear (from you)."

One of Candice's "top friends" on her profile is Michaela and Kylie.  Upon closer investigation, it becomes apparent that this is a special page she made for her daughter and stepdaughter.  "Our names are Michaela and Kylie Quiroz," the profile starts off.  "Our dad is the very handsome Bobby Quiroz.  I (Michaela) am 2 years old and Kylie is almost 9 months old.  Anything else u wanna know just ask, but if u have cooties...ewwww...stay away from us you cootie face."

The kids profile has not been updated recently, as Michaela (Robert's daughter from a previous relationship) is now three and Kylie is currently 16 months.
