Zinnanti first met a man he believes to be an individual who calls himself both "Informed Source" and "Zinnanti Frankenstein" during an Aug. 6 town hall meeting in Santa Clarita. The meeting was sponsored by California Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, who introduced anti-pedophile legislation seeking to make taking photos of young children and posting them for lewd purposes a crime. During the meeting, the man snapped photos of residents who got up to speak at the podium and then made comments himself defending pedophilia.

Later that month, the man showed up outside the courthouse where Zinnanti was seeking his restraining order and began snapping pictures of the media and Zinnanti. The two men got in an argument dispersed by sheriff's deputies when Zinnanti demanded to know the stranger's name. News reporters covering the event tried to get his name because he appeared to be posing as a photographer. The man refused to say anything other than, "I am ME."

"I am ME"

Coincidentally, three days later, both the judge in that hearing and Assemblyman Smyth received a packet of photos showing Zinnanti's young daughter in a bikini along with a letter blasting Zinnanti as a hypocrite. It wasn't signed but rather was identical to verbiage posted in the internet that same day and signed "Informed Source." The blogger Informed Source had also posted lewd comments in the past about Zinnanti and his daughter, Zinnanti said.

The day after the court hearing, the man snapping pictures sent an email to a supporter of Smyth's, accusing Zinnanti of defaming him by saying he was associated with pedophiles. It was signed Zinnanti Frankenstein. He wrote:

"The accusation was made, publicly,
and in about as loudly and most intimidating a way as possible.  It
was clearly incitement of a mob and defamation."

"He left court in a taxi so we wouldn't be able to trace him," Zinnanti said. "No one knows his identity. I'd like to find out so I can file a restraining order against him and sue him for libel."

While Zinnanti battles Informed Source, someone calling himself David Chabot has written to anti-McClellan website host Ron Tebo. The pair has gotten into terse conversations and Chabot launched a parody of Tebo's site that ridicules Tebo.
