In the book, Tolle wrote about sleeping on a park bench for two years and living in a state that he referred to as the "now."

Walsh also once suggested to Crime Library that a cult may have been holding her daughter captive.

A month after Brianna disappeared, Walsh told Crime Library that her daughter had a history of drug abuse and was perhaps suffering from psychological problems. "Maybe she had a psychotic break," Walsh said.

Another possibility, Walsh suggested, was that Brianna may have walked into the wilderness to die.

Walsh said she last saw her daughter the morning of Jan. 11 when Brianna left home to go for a walk. Brianna carried no extra clothing and took only a bottle of water with her. Walsh assumed she would be back soon. Brianna did not take her wallet and had no identification with her.

Walsh said her daughter had recently started taking long walks in the country to overcome her fear of the outdoors. She also quit using toothpaste and stopped washing and combing her hair.

Brianna disappeared just hours after her boyfriend arrived in town to visit her, Walsh said.
