JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Crime Library)  — Last week Crime Library brought you the story of 41-year-old Randall Piercy, a father who was arrested for imprisoning his nine-year-old son.  Police were initially tipped off by the boy's grandfather, Dan Boswell.  According to police reports, Boswell became aware of the conditions when he recently visited the home for the first time in several years.  The grandfather has since compared the boys living conditions to that of a Nazi concentration camp.

Several more details have emerged since Crime Library first reported this story.  Authorities now say the child was kept locked in his bedroom for the last three years and could only come out three times a day.  He was allowed out once for breakfast, which he had to make himself, once to cook his own dinner and once to use the bathroom.  If he had to use the bathroom more then once, he had to use a plastic bottle in his room.  According to Annie Smith, a spokeswoman for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, all of the windows were covered and the light switch was taped over so the boy could not use it.  The boy had no toys or friends and he was unable to read or write.

Two days after the arrest of her husband, 37-year-old Michelle Piercy was also arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse.  According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, she was arrested she told them the decision to confine the child was made by both her and her husband.

Prior to her arrest, Michelle Piercy defended her husband and said the boy, who suffered from hyperactivity, was locked in his room because a relative had sexually molested him.  She also said the court suggested they install the surveillance cameras throughout the house.
