"I enjoy spending time with family, playing guitar, bicycling, laughing, reading and enjoying life," he wrote in his online bio. "My primary responsibilities at the church are for preaching and administration. I love to spend time with people and watch how God is able to touch lives and bring wholeness to each one. God has richly blessed my life."
Like her father, Whitney also has a presence on the World Wide Web. She has profiles on several popular social networking websites, including Xanga.com, Facebook.com and MySpace.com. Normally, I post links to the profiles; however due to the private and personal nature of some of her entries, I have decided not to share those links here. However, I can tell you that within them she discusses her life, loves and at times the hopes and dreams she held for the future — a future she unfortunately did not live to see.

Following Whitney's autopsy, investigators again questioned everyone who was present at the time of her death. The focus of the investigation quickly turned to Whitney's younger brother, 15-year-old Sergei Isaac Carlson, who is now held in Cass County's juvenile detention center. At this time it is unclear what charges have been filed against him, because juvenile matters are sealed from the public.

As news of the developments made its way back to the media, Whitney's uncle, Mark Bourdon, read the following statement to the press:
"As you know, Whitney Paige Carlson was found by her mother Saturday morning, July 14, 2007, which initiated a police investigation. This has been a very difficult few days for the family, and now a difficult situation is even more difficult and tragic.
"Sergei Carlson, Whitney's brother, has been arrested and charged in the case. We are devastated by this ... please place your prayers and healing practices with Whitney as she continues on her journey to her next destination, as well as prayers for her family, friends, and Sergei."
