In July, Heather again called police, claiming that Bean had shoved her to the ground, punched and choked her.  The incident allegedly occurred at her Briarwood Drive residence.

By October, the violence in the relationship escalated to an all-time high.  According to a police report, Bean allegedly punched Heather in the face several times while shouting, "You've ruined my life."  The incident occurred at a hotel on U.S. Highway 31.  Heather suffered a concussion from the beating.  Bean was arrested for domestic battery, and Heather was granted a protective order against him.

The last reported incident before Heather disappeared occurred in January 2007, when Heather called police about a website Bean created that featured photos of her, posted without her consent.

This past Saturday, an informant told police that Bean had admitted to killing Heather and that he was going to leave the state.  Not wanting him to slip away, the Indianapolis Police Department decided to move on Bean and bring him in for questioning.  At about 4:30 p.m., a patrol unit stopped Bean's 2006 Ford Mustang in the 6700 block of Evanston Avenue.  Bean had been on his way out of town when police stopped him.

What happened next is not yet clear; however, at some point during questioning, Bean confessed to murdering Heather and disposing of her remains.  According to police, the murder was methodical and well planned.

"It was a full, detailed confession, including every step that he took—not only to dispose of the body but also in covering up the crime scene," Detective Todd Lappin told WRTV News.
