Reasons for the couple's alleged impending split are not yet clear, but some neighbors suggested that the family had fallen on hard times because Robinson had started abusing drugs and alcohol.  Nonetheless, none of the neighbors recalled a moment when he had been abusive to his wife, and police say that they are unaware of any domestic violence incidents occurring at the residence.

Last week, Cheri's friends and coworkers held a candlelight vigil outside Allegro Microsystems Inc., where she worked as a wafer fab operator in the production department.  "We just hope she finds her way home by these candles," event organizer Bert MacRonald announced to the group of people gathered outside.  Some people remained hopeful that Cheri might still be alive, while others gathered to mourn her

During the weekend, nearly 50 of Cheri's friends gathered near the school to search for her.  Police provided the group with maps of the area, and offered advice on where they should concentrate their efforts.  The group came up empty handed, but many have vowed to return next week for a second sweep of the area.  If Cheri is out there, dead or alive, her friends are determined to find her.

Anyone with information in the disappearance of Cheri Robinson is asked to call the Spencer Police Department at (508) 885-6333.
