"The manager of the building called me and said someone had gotten into the apartment and started a fire," Deborah explained. "He said there was no sign of forced entry and that whoever started it had either used a key or had entered through a sliding glass door."
It did not take long for arson investigators to source the fire. According to the official report, someone had placed clothing and papers on top of the stove and then turned on all four burners.

"The whole situation was weird," Deborah said. "They found food in the refrigerator that wasn't there before, dirty dishes and a mess in the bathroom. Other than that, nothing was missing or out of place."
According to Ronald Prioleau, a detective with the Fort Worth Police Department, the timing of the fire was suspicious.
"The fire was intentional, but it is unknown at this time if the fire is related to his disappearance," Prioleau told Crime Library yesterday afternoon. "But, due to the time period, I do suspect foul play. At this time, that is all the information I have to share. We are still actively working on the investigation."
