It was, however, the first time the parents had heard about this unsettling behavior and they were very angry. Angry enough to have a confrontation with George, but thought better of it and, instead, brought it to the attention of the trailer park manager. One of the parents also contacted the office manager of O&H Enterprises, who told the parent to call the police.

Sue Rodriguez, Christopher's grandmother, a strong, highly-protective woman, who lives directly opposite the Edenfields, was also alarmed by George's constant focus on the neighborhood children, and she, too, said she lodged a complaint with the trailer park manager.

So, here we have father and son sex offenders with a wife/mother who may go down in history as an extraordinary example of perversion living together in a very unacceptable life style. The son's behavior is bizarre, threatening and erratic. His behavior towards the children and his neighbor would have certainly brought his probationary status into question. Why did I, a stranger to the community, in less than two days of interviews find this out when the law enforcement and judicial machinery in Glynn County over a 10-year period did not?

It's easy to point fingers at law enforcement and the judiciary — probation officers, police, prosecutors, and judges, but fault also resides with the community.

What went wrong? What can we learn from this tragedy so that it is not repeated day after day in every community?
