Fifteen-year-old Carly Ryan Found Dead On South Australia Beach

Interestingly enough, one of the top people on Carly's friends list last week was her mother, Sonya Ryan, 32.  Sonya has since removed herself from her daughter's friends list, but her profile is still active.

Using the screen name Vampxxx, Sonya lists her occupation as an operations manager.  She describes herself as a proud parent, and under the "about me" section of the site, she wrote: "What you need to know??  Get to know me and find out!!!"  The rest of her profile is pretty much blank.  She may have started removing things after her daughter's death.  Perhaps the only other item of interest is her listing of her favorite bands.  Slipknot, DevilDriver, Killswitch Engage, and Hatebreed take up just four of her 169 friend spaces.  It appears that Sonya's interests had also passed on to her daughter.

Since her death, Carly's MySpace web page has turned into a virtual memorial, where friends stop by to pay tribute and leave heartfelt messages.

A user who identified himself as Danynn left this message on February 26:

"Carly, there are so many things I want to say to you, this is the only way I feel I can say them, besides saying to my self. I miss you so much... there are so many things I think about just thinking about you coming back, I wish you would come back... I just want to be with you. Look into your eyes and know everything's ok..."

Another user with the screen name Hedgehog also expressed how the loss of her friend has touched her life.

"We will all miss you Carly for all the times that we spent together and all the laughs we shared.  You cheered us up when we were having bad days and you always showed us the bright side to everything.  You were such a wonderful person and you will forever live on in our hearts and memories.  We all offer our condolences to your family and our prayers are with them in this time of sorrow..."
