Cherry Creek, CO — Suspected serial killer Sean Hanify has been convicted of first-degree murder in the death of a homeless man. The victim, Mark Davis, 44, was found stabbed to death in July 2000. Hanify was previously convicted in the 2002 murder of Edward Brown. Hanify has confessed to several other murders, which remain under investigation.

| Atlanta, GA — State prosecutors have granted permission to lawyers for Wayne Williams to conduct DNA tests on animal hairs used as evidence during his trial. Williams requested the testing in an effort to appeal his conviction; however attorneys for the State say the results will have no impact on his conviction. In 1982, Williams was convicted of the murders of two young African-American men and sentenced to two life terms. He was also held responsible for 22 other deaths. |

| MARIANNA, FL — Two armed men were responsible for a shootout at a sheriff's residence today. During the barrage of gunfire, Mellie McDaniel, wife of Sheriff John McDaniel, and a deputy sheriff were shot dead. The suspects were both killed when reinforcements arrived on the scene. The motive for the killings is unclear; however, sources close to the investigation say the sheriff's house was a planned target. This is not the first tragedy for Sheriff McDaniel. When he was a deputy 27 years ago, his father was murdered in a crime that serial killer Henry Lee Lucas confessed to perpetrating. |

SAVANNAH, GA — It took a jury less than two hours of deliberation to convict Edward Charles Wilkins, Jr., 32, on three counts of murder in the deaths of two women and a man. Chatham County Superior Court Judge Perry Brannen, Jr. also handed down a 20-year term for the assault on a woman who Wilkins shot five times.

Johannesburg, South Africa — Another body has been found in Moffat Park, raising the fear that a possible copycat is working in the area. On November 13, 2006, police arrested Richman Makhwekwe, 28, as the prime suspect in the Moffat Park serial killings. Authorities are cautioning the public not to become to concerned, saying that this most recent murder does not follow the same MO as the previous murders. The investigation continues.
