Hey kiddo! so I want to hear whats going on. I'm so confused. you started to tell me something at lunch that day and then everybody else came over and I was hungry. So TELL ME. I keep hearing shit and I don't know whats going on. I don't like not knowing."

That same friend posted a message to a blog shortly after the murders, expressing confusion as to why Josh went off the deep end.

The Pain...

Current mood: Depressed, Sad, Confused

Friday started with pain and depression.  A dear friend died and with him his mother.  I met him through a mutual friend but once I came to know Josh we became friends.  I will forever miss his wonderful smile, his lanky hugs, and those moments when he laughed. The hallways at school were empty of sound and people.  The commons were vacant as were the faces of those you did see.  The teachers and staff all silently teached as the kids remained unfocused.  I have yet to comprehend why he did this.  I miss you Josh.  Rest in peace my dear.  We will remember you for who you were and not what you did..."

Unless Josh confided in someone or left behind a message explaining his mindset, we may never know the motivation behind his actions.  Since last Friday, comments on his MySpace page have changed in context from friendly messages to heartfelt goodbyes.
