Last week, over 350 volunteers searched an estimated 1,000 acres of property surrounding the college.  John Walsh's search group "Team Adam" was called on to consult in the search.  Despite all of their combined efforts, searchers were unable to find any clues in Steffey's disappearance.

Steffey's parents have offered a reward for information concerning Steffey's whereabouts.  In an interview with The Herald-Times, Dale Steffey said he believes someone knows what happened to his son and that that someone needs to start talking.

"Whoever has knowledge of what happened to Wade, it will be found out," Dale Steffey said. "It would be better if they come forward sooner rather than later."

Wade S. Steffey is a 19-year-old white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds.  He has short brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen on January 13th wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt with blue stripes and light-colored blue jeans..."

Steffey maintained a MySpace page prior to his disappearance.  His last login date is shown as Jan. 12.  The page does not contain much, other than a description of his interests and school activities.  He has a few blog entries, one of which is dated September 29, 2005 and describes his indecisiveness about attending Purdue.  Other than that, he does not talk much about his life or school activities. 

Last week, investigators released a map, which shows the area to which Steffey's cell phone was triangulated before the phone powered off on Jan. 17.  They also released an image of the cell phone model and asked that all students and faculty keep an eye out for it.  In addition, students have been urged to hand out flyers with Steffey's photo and information.
