Ted Ottley
After graduating in Communications Arts, Ted Ottley began his
career as an English teacher in London England. He went on to
become a copywriter – then creative director with a London
advertising agency.
He returned to his birthplace – Canada – and continued his
writing career. He contributed to all media – advertising,
theatre, and broadcasting.
At the same time, he wrote music, lyrics, and scores for TV and
film productions – including the TV series Huckleberry Finn,
and many others still screening internationally.
As a journalist, he has written numerous general articles and
features for newspapers including The Australian and The
Sydney Morning Herald.
In addition to working as a general reporter, he has profiled
several American cult figures for Harper’s Bazaar Magazine.
He has also written and produced industrial and legit shows
featuring notable musical performers – including Tina Turner and
Mickey Rooney.
For television, he has written for most of the major networks in
Australia as well as CBC Canada.
More recently, his mystery thrillers for teens have been
published in Australia, Britain and the US.
In addition, Ted has owned and operated a recording studio, run a
dude ranch, operated a resort, and built boats.
He currently devotes most of his time to journalism and fiction,
and has two books in progress.
